After opening up this series about local spots and places to go out in Sant Antoni with a first installment focused on the best places for drinking and nibbing, we are back with a selection of the best eateries in our hood.

You won’t be wrong with any of these options since we have tried them already and can only tell you that you’ll be simply delighted. So get your phone out and start texting your friends to make foodie plans for the weekendz.

BENZINA Italian food and rock’n’roll and . Just looking at pictures of their meals on their Instagram account will make you drool right away. They are constantly developing their menu, adapting to the current season and combining both Italian and local ingredients, resulting in bold and creative cuisine and cocktails inspired by the eclectic gastronomic scene from New York. MALEDUCAT is more than a place where to eat a meal, it is an experience in itself. This is a cozy restaurant with a certain laid-back atmosphere; a place to relish and enjoy really good fresh food accompanied by some delicious wine. Take our tip: try their assorted oysters. Carrer de Manso, 54


GRINGA From L.A. with love! This is a lovely Californian diner with a minimalistic style in the heart of Barcelona. We recommend you go there feeling hungry, especially for a rich breakfast after a long night out: they’ll be nice to meat you. On their menu: tacos, miches, salsas, hot wings, jalapeños, burritos and pancakes. It will be hard to decide. Carrer de la Lleialtat, 16

THE FISH & CHIPS SHOP The best fish and chips. Period. So crunchy, so juicy, sooo tasty! They do have a ton of options of fried fish and chips, including fried boquerones… and aguacate and chips! This is a place that everybody will love, even the veggies. Our tip: their grilled artichokes are a must. Carrer Rocafort, 70

MAKEKOSA It is a fact: Italians do it better. At least, when it comes to pizza. Their motto is simple: “Live to eat instead of eat to live”. The quality of their fresh produce speaks for itself. Enjoy their gourmet pizza at their restaurant, to take away or get it delivered to your place but don’t forget to try their starters, they have an amazing smoked burrata. C/Floridablanca 102

PAPAGAYO Adventurous food and delicious cocktails. They have a modern and sustainable approach to their cuisine, inspired by their very own experiences. Their menu has many tasty options from the orchard, the earth and the sea with a very personal touch. A cozy environment with an outdoor terrace. Carrer del Parlament, 2.


BABY JALEBI  Punjabi street food. Suitable for veggies and vegans and omnivores who want to claim their chicken tikka masala. You may know Mani and Majid Alam already from their previous gastronomic ventures in Barcelona (namely, their fish and chips restaurants). This place is dedicated to their mother, who has always been known as ‘baby jalebi’ due to her love of these sweet treats. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, 450


SUCURSAL ACEITERA For those days in which you feel like treating yourself to a bit of an upscale experience. Mediterranean km0 cuisine with a love for details and fresh produce from their own orchard. For a more casual experience, go to La Barra to try their daily menu, they even have a lovely terrace in this location. ANARDI A basque restaurant inspired by the classic sidrerías in Euskadi and a hint of Brazil via one of their owners. Ever heard of that combo before? It’s a match made in heaven. Pintxos and txakoli wine in a relaxed atmosphere. Oysters, truffled eggs, grilled octopus on a bed of smoked parmentier… We could go on for hours. This is Carrer del Parlament, 48


Dual Café A charming italian bistrot right in front of the Sant Antoni Market serving delicious homemade meals from the early morning until merienda time. Honest food made with love and with a distinctive Italian touch, something that comes naturally to the owners, the twin sisters Chiara y Francesca.



SPICY Asian tapas in an edgy tavern. The perfect place to start sharing some gyozas, baos and thai soup to end up enjoying some drinks with friends. With strong aesthetic and visuals, this place is more than your average asian restaurant. By the time you are finished with your dessert, you’ll start swaying to the rhythm of 90’s hip hop and funky music. Carrer del Comte Borrell, 41


THE JUICE HOUSE For those days when our bodies are craving a detox and we feel like going healthy, this spot is perfect for it serves light and nutritious food and beverages: smoothies, organic juices and açai, bowls.
